A wa.me link is an official WhatsApp URL in the format https://wa.me/[phone]?text=[message]. When someone clicks it, WhatsApp opens directly to a new chat — no need to save the contact. It works on mobile (opens the app) and desktop (opens WhatsApp Web). The text parameter pre-fills the message input so the user just hits send.
No — wa.me links work with both regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business. Any number registered on WhatsApp can receive clicks. The link format is identical for both account types.
