Common Questions
Everything you need to know
This tool maps your regular text characters to special Unicode character sets — mathematical symbols, letterlike symbols, and other Unicode blocks that visually look like styled fonts. For example, 𝗔 is Unicode character U+1D400 (Mathematical Bold Capital A), not a bold-formatted letter. This means the output works as plain text anywhere Unicode is supported.
Yes! These Unicode fonts work on Instagram bios, captions, comments, stories, and DMs. They also work on Twitter/X, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube About sections, WhatsApp, Discord, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and virtually any other platform. Since they're real text characters (not images), they render on all devices — iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac.
Unicode only defines styled variants for basic Latin letters (A–Z, a–z) and some numbers in certain mathematical symbol blocks. Not every Unicode font block contains a full set of numbers, punctuation, or special symbols. When a character has no Unicode equivalent in a style, it falls back to the regular character. This is a Unicode standard limitation, not a bug.
Instagram allows up to 150 characters in your bio. Since Unicode characters are single characters (just from a different block), they count the same as regular letters. 𝓗𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓸 still counts as 5 characters. Captions allow up to 2,200 characters. Keep this in mind when crafting your styled bio or caption.
You can use Unicode fonts in your TikTok bio, video captions, and comments. For TikTok usernames, only standard characters are supported — Unicode symbols will be rejected. However, your display name (which is different from your username) supports Unicode, so you can have a styled name shown on your profile while keeping a simple username.
Completely safe. These are standard Unicode characters recognized by the Unicode Consortium and rendered natively by all operating systems. Millions of Instagram users use styled Unicode text in their bios daily without any account issues. Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and all major platforms officially support the full Unicode standard.
