Our engine calculates the absolute difference between your Date of Birth and the Target Date (or current live time). It accurately subtracts the years, then months, and finally days. If the remaining days are negative, it borrows days from the previous month, perfectly accounting for the varying lengths of months.
Yes. Because the calculations rely on the native JavaScript `Date` object and absolute Unix timestamps, leap years (February 29th) are automatically and perfectly factored into all total days, weeks, and hours calculations.
By default, the calculator shows your exact age right now. However, if you want to know how old someone was on a specific historical date (e.g., when they graduated), or how old you will be in the year 2050, you can set the "Compare To" date. The engine will calculate the interval between those two specific dates.
