Common questions
Everything you need to know
Is this really free? What are the limits?
Yes. Image processing is entirely free with a limit of 50 images per day per session. Files are processed server-side and deleted immediately after download — we never store your images.
What image formats are supported?
Input: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and most common web formats up to 20MB. Output: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF. WebP is recommended for web use as it produces the smallest files at comparable quality.
How does server-side processing differ from browser tools?
Processing runs on the server using PHP GD library rather than the browser's Canvas API. This means consistent results regardless of device, proper color profile handling, and genuine compression — not re-encoding at the same quality as Canvas tends to do.
What quality setting should I use?
80–85% is the sweet spot for most web use — visually lossless to most viewers with significant file-size reduction. For print or archival, use 95+. For thumbnails and social media where speed matters more, 70–75% is fine.
Why would I strip EXIF metadata?
EXIF data can contain GPS coordinates, device model, camera settings, and timestamps. Strip it before sharing photos publicly for privacy. It also reduces file size by a few KB per image.
